Ditch the pencil!

Monocomplex has done it once again!  The newest concept from South Korean design is the Free Form Ruler.

Rulers are only good for a few types of measurement, you can only fit so many numbers on a long flat stick.  Not to mention it is not easy to convert the lengths that you get from this ruler.  Let us not forget either that rulers, also called a straight edge, are only useful for perfectly straight lines, but what if you want to measure a curved line?

This "ruler" works similar to how a pencil would.  The idea is that you drag the sensor tip along whatever curve or line that needs measuring and the numbers are displayed through LED.  By rotating the dial, the unit of measurement changes or resets the measurement.

This instrument will be very helpful as a school supply or something architects can use in the field.  Nice job Monocomplex.
