Modern Illumination

We all need lights in our home, but just because we all have them, that does not mean we cannot turn our lamps into a conversational piece.  Flynn Talbot has developed a spherical lamp which changing light color and light intensity.

It is called an X&Y Lamp.  This name was chosen from how one controls the device; to change the color one turns it on the X-axis, and to increase or decrease the brightness one spins it on the Y-axis.  The device is pretty simple in form, it sits on a brass base (pictured above) and is similar to technology found in advanced computer mice.

I like this design. It's modern, practical and can change the tone of a room with a simple twist!
